The Supporters Club are delighted to be one of the shirt sponsors for the South Molton RFC Panthers, Girls section. We have given a grant of £500 to match fund purchase of a set of match shirts.
The shirts have the Exeter Chiefs Supporters Club Logo on both sleeves.
South Molton restarted their girls’ section in early October 2024, after a number of girls expressed an interest in playing rugby at the club. Since that time, the girls have trained and played in a number of different kits that have been handed down from years gone by. The new set of shirts gives the girls a uniform kit and promotes the values of rugby through teamwork and enjoyment as they will all look the same and be part of one team.
Since reforming the Girls’ section in October, numbers have grown to now having 25 girls regularly attending training. Working with Cullompton, the girls have been given opportunities to play matches alongside Cullompton at Cullompton and at Ivybridge. The first Home game at South Molton was on the 19th of January 2025 against Bideford. Again, they were supported by Cullompton who supplied 6 players and the result was an outstanding 29 – 10 win for South Molton. They are arranging other games for the future including Okehampton, Ivybride and Paignton, and are also entering two teams in the Kingsley 7’s tournament on 31st of March 2025.
It is great to see the collaboration between clubs and for us to be able to help promote team spirit through the provision of a great set of shirts.
